Unsere Mission
Die Mission von Passion Christi Helps kann in wenigen Worten zusammengefasst werden: Wir möchten den Menschen in Kenia helfen. Nicht aus Profitgründen, nicht aus persönlicher Profilierung, sondern weil uns das Leid der Menschen nahe geht und wir eine Möglichkeit erkannt haben, dieses zu lindern.
Um das zu erreichen, errichten wir eine medizinische Erstversorgung im Dschungel von Shimba Hills, um eine erste medizinische Anlaufstelle für Notfälle und auch präventive Behandlungen zu schaffen.
Perspektivisch wollen wir jedoch noch so viel mehr für diese Region erreichen.

The mission of Passion Christi Helps can be summed up in a few words: We want to help the people of Kenya. Not for profit reasons, not for personal gain, but because we are deeply concerned about the suffering of the people and have seen an opportunity to alleviate it.
To achieve this, we are setting up a primary medical care facility in the jungle of Shimba Hills to provide a first medical point of contact for emergencies and also preventive treatments.
In the long term, however, we want to achieve so much more for this region.
Wir möchten die Menschen auf lange Sicht nicht nur körperlich, sondern auch psychisch betreuen. In einem Land, das von Armut, Krankheit und Hunger regiert wird, kann eine so einfache Sache wie eine grundlegende medizinische Versorgung den Unterschied zwischen Leben und Sterben ausmachen.

Warum bauen wir eine medizinische Station und weshalb gerade in Shimba Hills / Kenia?
Wir beginnen in Kürze eine medizinische Station im Dschungel von Shimba Hills zu bauen, wodurch es den Menschen ermöglicht werden soll, grundlegende medizinische Versorgung zu erhalten. Ob für Notfälle, präventivmedizinische Maßnahmen oder die sichere Abwicklung von Geburten: Unsere medizinische Station ist der einzige Anlaufpunkt, den die Menschen dieser Region für gesundheitliche Sorgen und Probleme haben.
Die medizinische Station im Shimba Hills war ursprünglich ein privates Projekt des Initiators Steffen Balz, doch nun ist es für uns an der Zeit, Sie und die Öffentlichkeit an unserer Mission für die Menschen in Kenia teilhaben zu lassen. Nachdem Herr Balz den kompletten Bau der medizinischen Station aus eigenen finanziellen Mitteln bewerkstelligt, benötigen wir bald Ihre Hilfe, um die alltägliche medizinische Versorgung zu garantieren.
Wir können dieses große und zutiefst notwendige Projekt nicht allein stemmen und sind daher dankbar für jeden Beitrag, den Sie für die Hilfe in Shimba Hills erübrigen können.

We will soon begin building a medical station in the jungle of Shimba Hills, which will enable people to receive basic medical care. Whether for emergencies, preventative medical measures or the safe handling of births: our medical station is the only point of contact that the people of this region have for health concerns and problems.
The medical station in Shimba Hills was originally a private project of the initiator Steffen Balz, but now it is time for us to let you and the public participate in our mission for the people of Kenya. After Mr. Balz has managed the entire construction of the medical station with his own financial resources, we will soon need your help to guarantee everyday medical care.
We cannot manage this large and deeply necessary project alone and are therefore grateful for every contribution you can spare to help in Shimba Hills.
Das frühe Erkennen von Krankheiten rettet Menschenleben
Unser Ziel ist es, dass gefährliche Krankheiten, wie Malaria, Thyphus und Bluthochdruck durch Präventivmedizin schnell erkannt und im Keim erstickt werden, ohne Schäden am Patienten zu hinterlassen. Geburten, die in Begleitung von medizinischem Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden, sind deutlich risikoärmer für Mutter und Kind. Wir stellen Medikamente bereit, sodass auch einkommensschwache Familien versorgt werden können.
Bis zur nächsten Stadt ist es ein weiter Weg und die Bevölkerung in Kenia - Shimba Hills ist so arm, dass sie sich meistens weder das Benzin für den Transfer zum Hospital noch die Kosten für die Behandlung leisten könnten.
Wer in Shimba Hills ernsthaft erkrankt, wird mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit an dieser Erkrankung sterben. Jedenfalls war das bisher so, doch wir, der Initiator Steffen Balz und Freunde, erkannten genau hier unsere Aufgabe, unsere Mission und die Notwendigkeit zu handeln.

Our goal is to ensure that dangerous diseases such as malaria, typhus and high blood pressure are quickly identified and nipped in the bud through preventive medicine without causing any harm to the patient. Births that are accompanied by medical professionals are significantly less risky for mother and child. We provide medication so that even low-income families can be cared for.
It is a long way to the next town and the population in Kenya - Shimba Hills - is so poor that they can usually neither afford the petrol for the transfer to the hospital nor the costs of treatment.
Anyone who becomes seriously ill in Shimba Hills will most likely die from the disease. At least that has been the case so far, but we, the initiator Steffen Balz and friends, recognized our task, our mission and the need to act here.
April 2022:
Der Standort des Hospitals steht endlich fest
Im März und April 2022 haben wir ein geeignetes Stück Land in der Region Shimba Hills gesucht, um unser Vorhaben endlich realisieren zu können. Durch eine göttliche Fügung sind wir fündig geworden. Der Landbesitzer Stanley erkannte die Dringlichkeit einer medizinischen Versorgung und zieht fortan mit uns an einem Strang.
Nun wurde ein Stück Land an Steffen Balz verkauft und die Übertragung der Besitzverhältnisse befindet sich noch immer in Klärung, damit die Voraussetzung geschaffen ist, mit dem Bau der medizinischen Station zu beginnen.
Derzeit planen wir den Baubeginn der medizinischen Station im Sommer/ Herbst 2025.

In March and April 2022, we looked for a suitable piece of land in the Shimba Hills region so that we could finally realize our project. By divine providence, we found it. The landowner Stanley recognized the urgency of medical care and is now working with us.
A piece of land has now been sold to Steffen Balz and the transfer of ownership is still being clarified so that the conditions are met to start building the medical station.
We are currently planning to start building the medical station in summer/autumn 2025.
Natürlich wissen wir, dass wir die Situation in Afrika nicht im Alleingang ändern können. Aber wir sind motiviert mit Helfern, Partnern, Freunden und Spendern etwas Gutes für die Menschen vor Ort in Gang zu bringen.
Of course, we know that we cannot change the situation in Africa on our own. But we are motivated to work with helpers, partners, friends and donors to do something good for the people there.
Wie Sie den Bau der medizinischen Station unterstützen können
Ob Geldspende, Sachspende oder Hilfe vor Ort: Wir sind dankbar über jeden von Ihnen, der mit uns gemeinsam etwas Gutes für die Menschen in Kenia tun möchte. Jeder Cent zählt, jede helfende Hand ist ein Geschenk und bringt das Projekt voran.
Die medizinische Station begann als persönliche Mission des Initiators Steffen Balz, der den Bau der medizinischen Station und seiner Nebengebäude aus eigenen Mitteln finanziert. Für den Bau des Gebäudes an sich ist also gesorgt, doch wir benötigen Ihre Hilfe, um die zur medizinischen Behandlung notwendigen Utensilien und Geräte zu beschaffen sowie dafür zu sorgen, dass der alltägliche Betrieb der Station aufrechterhalten werden kann.
Wir arbeiten mit KEINER der einschlägigen Hilfsorganisationen zusammen, sondern führen dieses Projekt eigenverantwortlich und menschennah durch, weshalb wir Ihnen auch versichern können, dass die Spenden vollständig in Shimba Hills ankommen und ausschließlich der medizinischen Station dienen werden.

The medical station began as a personal mission of the initiator Steffen Balz, who financed the construction of the medical station and its outbuildings from his own resources. The construction of the building itself is therefore taken care of, but we need your help to procure the utensils and equipment necessary for medical treatment and to ensure that the day-to-day operation of the station can be maintained.
We do NOT work with ANY of the relevant aid organizations, but carry out this project independently and close to the people, which is why we can assure you that all donations will arrive in Shimba Hills and will be used exclusively for the medical station.
